The COM-DEX app by Widex provides a convenient way for hearing aid users to control their hearing aids remotely using the COM-DEX hands-free streamer. This app allows for high-quality sound streaming from mobile phones and a connected COM-DEX Remote Mic to Widex hearing aids.
Key features of the COM-DEX app include:
- Adjusting volume settings, changing programs, or altering sound levels of Widex hearing aids via the COM-DEX
- Choosing the directional focus of hearing aids
- Checking the battery status of COM-DEX and COM-DEX Remote Mic
- Controlling the COM-DEX Remote Mic, such as pausing/starting the stream, adjusting microphone gain, and enabling/disabling surroundings while streaming from the microphone
- Boosting the volume of streamed sound in the settings menu
- Support for swiping screens to change active screen (left/right)
- Access to a connection guide for COM-DEX and COM-DEX Remote Mic
- Usage guides for adjusting sound, programs, and sound direction
- Instructional videos for basic hearing aid maintenance
- Finding the nearest hearing care professional using the shop finder
- Using the mirror function to assist with placement of hearing aids
If your current COM-DEX has firmware that is older than version 1.3.0 (e.g., 1.2.0 or 1.0.10), it is recommended to consult your dispenser for a firmware upgrade. This ensures an optimized experience with COM-DEX Remote Mic support and access to the new features mentioned in "What's new in Version 1.3.0." To verify your current firmware version on COM-DEX, check the menu More | Help | App and device information -> COM-DEX firmware version: x.x.xx
